KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Fans of good writing can explore a roster of literary and theatrical events during Hemingway Days 2012, set for Tuesday through Sunday, July 17-22. Panelists to Explore Alternate Worlds at Key West Literary Seminar Jan. 5-8

KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Leading American and international writers are to explore the literature of the future, alternate and imagined worlds, utopias and the unknown during the 30th annual Key West Literary Seminar.

Scheduled Thursday through Sunday, Jan. 5-8, the seminar is themed “Yet Another World: Literature of the Future.” Most presentations are to take place at Key West’s historic San Carlos Institute, 516 Duval St.

KWP02KEY WEST, Florida Keys — Each July, the island where Ernest Hemingway lived throughout the 1930s welcomes approximately 125 stocky, white-bearded aspiring “Ernests” to compete in Sloppy Joe’s “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest.

Set for Thursday through Saturday, July 21-23, the contest takes place at Sloppy Joe’s Bar, 201 Duval St., where Ernest Hemingway often enjoyed cocktails with cohorts.
