In a ceremony rich with history and meaning, Holland America Line held a Dedication Ceremony for ms Koningsdam May 20 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Holland America Line’s tradition will continue when Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands christens Holland America Line’s new Pinnacle-class ship, ms Koningsdam, in a ceremony in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, May 20, 2016, on board the ship.

For the fifth consecutive year, Holland America Line was named among the “World’s Most Ethical Companies” by Ethisphere Institute, a leading business ethics think tank.

On Nov. 30 Holland America Line’s ms Zuiderdam became the seventh ship in the fleet in 2015 to earn a perfect score of 100 on a routine United States Public Health inspection conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In anticipation of the launch of ms Koningsdam in April 2016, Holland America Line is debuting a series of short videos called “Countdown to Koningsdam” that will provide construction updates as the ship nears completion.

Having been with the company since 1997, de Vries rose through the ranks from fourth officer to captain and has been master of ms Amsterdam, ms Eurodam, ms Nieuw Amsterdam, ms Rotterdam and ms Zuiderdam.
