Costa Diadema Near Ready

Construction is moving into the final stages for Costa Diadema, Costa Cruises’ new flagship due for delivery in November 2014. The 132,500-ton, 3,724-guest ship currently is under construction at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard near Venice. The flagship’s inaugural activities are scheduled to last throughout November, including the preview cruise Nov. 1, the christening event Nov. 7 and three inaugural cruises departing Nov. 8, 15 and 22.

The 2014 Cruise Shipping Miami conference took place Monday, March 10 through Thursday, March 13 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The annual event attracts the top movers and shakers in the industry.

DWTS Mirror Ball Trophy

The famous “Dancing with the Stars” Mirror Ball trophy made its way to the NewmanPR offices courtesy of our client Holland America Line. The famous symbol of the hit ABC television show is en route to the home of the winner of “Dancing with the Stars: at Sea,” an entertainment program that mimics the television version of the show on the line’s 15 ships.

Diadema Gets Funnel

Costa Diadema recently experienced two construction milestones — the ship’s distinctive yellow and blue funnel was delivered and installed Sept. 16, and the hull section containing the ship’s name was placed Sept. 30.

The 4,947-passenger, 132,500-ton Costa Diadema, which will be the largest Italian-flagged cruise ship, is scheduled for delivery in October 2014.
