“Surviving Mommie Dearest” features Crawford’s intriguing personal insights into her childhood as the adopted daughter of film icon Joan Crawford and her subsequent personal and professional challenges and triumphs. As well as “Mommie Dearest,” the play also is based on her second best-selling book, “Survivor.”
Directed by award-winning New York filmmaker Eric Marciano of American Montage Films, “Surviving Mommie Dearest” also draws on the talents of musical director George Bugatti and producer Jerry Rosenberg, co-owner of the renowned Metro Night Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
The two Key West performances benefit AIDS Help Inc., and the Keyswide organization’s fundraising campaign to choose the king and queen of Fantasy Fest 2011.
