Costa Cruises Earns Top-10 Rankings in Three Categories in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Cruise Lines 2022

Costa Cruises ranked in the top 10 in three categories of the annual U.S. News and World Report’s Best Cruise Lines 2022. In this year’s rankings, the prestigious publication evaluated 18 cruise lines, with Costa claiming sixth place in Best Cruise Lines for Families, eighth place in Best Cruise Lines for the Money and 10th place in Best Cruise Lines in the Mediterranean.

U.S. News & World Report’s ranking lists are updated annually and are based on an Expert’s Rating (30%) assigned by the publication’s editors, a Traveler Rating (50%) based on consumer reviews on Cruiseline.com, and health assessments conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as other factors such as itinerary offerings and cruise fares. In order to qualify for a ranking, a cruise line must meet the requirements for that specific list.

“U.S. News & World Report’s rigorous evaluation process means that consumers can have confidence that these findings are unbiased and reliable,” said Scott Knutson, vice president of sales and marketing for Costa Cruises North America. “These rankings are a well-deserved acknowledgement of Costa’s amazing staff and crew, and our continued commitment to provide unforgettable cruise experiences.”

The New Costa

Costa Cruises recently launched a new brand identity that reflects a company transformation toward a new cruise concept. Anchored by its first new logo in more than 70 years, Costa’s iconic “C” has been updated to symbolize the essence of the new Costa — cruises that accentuate the uniqueness of local destinations, taking guests to the heart of each place and revealing its true traditions. The New Costa campaign has reimagined shore excursions, extended time in port and focused on the gastronomic exploration of destinations with expert guidance from top chefs Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León. Currently, the New Costa branding and operational enhancements have been implemented throughout the line’s 11-ship fleet.

Costa’s Italian Cruise Experience

For over 70 years Costa’s fleet has offered an authentic Italian-style holiday for cruisers from every continent. Given the international clientele, announcements are in multiple languages, and the entertainment bridges language barriers with music and dance, theme parties, games and contests. Costa Cruises serves authentic Italian food the way real Italians like it — with later dining times, ship-made mozzarella cheese and venues that reflect every region of the country. Guests can indulge in Italy’s most popular food and beverage brands, such as Barilla Pasta, Aperol, Ferrari Trento and Vergnano coffee. The Costa experience includes an expansive Samsara Spa program and “Peppa Pig”–branded fleetwide areas and activities for children and youths. North American guests can expect a truly international vacation experience on a Costa cruise.
